Week 24: Trip to Orlando and Disney

What a weekend we had in Orlando! We were there from Thursday night until Monday. It is always so great to be back in Orlando with friends and Lauren was a great traveler! The weather was just right, Lauren was a perfect sleeper (she slept in Kaylee's crib with black out curtains) and we made last minute plans to go to Disney. The only down side was having to leave and then experiencing a 9-1/2 hour drive back because of major traffic with detours on the turnpike.
Here Lauren is with her favorite teether...the bunny. Thank heavens for the sanitize cycle on our washer and dryer. :-)
Friday night, we hired NannyPoppinz to babysit Lauren while we all went out for our annual Christmas Dinner. I was so happy to know that Kaitlin, the nanny that I had used 6 weeks ago for Mary's shower, would be assigned to us again. Kaitlin's report was that Lauren was a good baby and she ate all of her dinner, took a bath, drank all of her bottle and went to bed by 8:30 pm LST (Lauren Standard Time). We adults enjoyed drinks and appetizers at the Ashy's then went an entire ONE mile from their house (where Lauren was) to Lago's Restaurant. We had a great time visiting in our private dining room and went back just in time to relieve Kaitlin at 11pm.
We girls before dinner.
Isn't Mary the most beautiful prego with twins lady ever?!?!
The Family of 4!
Saturday, after a very leisurely morning (we were still in our PJ's at noon), we took Lauren to Downtown Disney. Here we are on the carosel. I don't think she knew what to think of it but I imagine that it was reminiscent of the golf cart rides she takes in Chipley.
Happy mama and baby.
Then we took her to see Santa Claus! We had been waiting in line for quite a while and here she is getting her first view of Santa. I am shocked to see how excited she got! I think she likes all of the red in his outfit. She started bouncing up and down in my arms and trying to get to him. It was so funny!

The Ashy's taking their annual Santa Photo.
When we walked up to him, she started holding out her arms and leaning towards him!
Big Girl, Lauren.
I love Santa Claus!!

Santa, we already have our Christmas present...and we can't get enough of her!
I love my Aunt Mary. Sorry, Kaylee and Ashlynn for sitting on your heads!
Sunday morning posing for pictures before going to church. Still practicing sitting up. Slow progress. :-)

I love my Aunt Whitney!

Noah and JB taking time out of their play schedule to sit with Lauren

Noah, I think you're handsome. Can I marry you if you're my mommy and daddy's godson?

The Bongiorno Boys

On Sunday afternoon, we decided to take Lauren to Disney World! We have many thanks to say to Kyle for getting us in. We had a great time. Thank you!
Here Lauren is on the monorail..."Yay! I'm going to the happiest place in the world!"
Our family...mickey mouse ears and all!
She loved looking at all the colors and sites in Disney.
Meeting Mickey Mouse and Minnie for the first time.

Just like with Santa, Lauren was captivated by Minnie and Mickey.

Taking a milk break with Aunt Mary (By the way, Mary was such a trooper with her growing belly walking around Disney)

We then went to MGM to see The Osborne Family Lights. It was something to see and Lauren, of course, loved looking at all the lights with music. And I even think she noticed the snow that was falling on Main Street. Very observant little girl. :-)
Merry Christmas from Disney
Knock, Knock! Kaylee and Ashlynn! It's me Lauren! Hurry up and grow so you can come out and experience this awesome life outside the belly! We are going to have so much fun entertaining our parents together! I've been playing with some of your toys (they're awesome) and sleeping in your beds
(they're comfy...you're going to love your black out curtains). Thank you for letting me stay at your house and for sharing your mommy and daddy with me. I really like playing with them. You two girls are very lucky to get them as your parents. Toodles for now! See you soon!

Week 23: Getting Ready for Christmas

Soon-to-be "Merry 1st Christmas!" Lauren started her month with decorating the house (and Daddy's office) with Mama.
She loves to sit in her bumbo seat (and sometimes, for a few seconds, sitting all by herself) and look at the Christmas Tree in her room. Valerie made an awesome little girl Christmas Tree for Lauren.
Practicing sitting up. She doesn't look like a little newborn anymore, does she? Gosh, time is definitely going by quickly. I don't think she will be sitting alone any time soon, but we practice every once in a while. She is also now eating oatmeal and an entire jar of fruit for breakfast and a full jar of vegetable and fruit for lunch and dinner. It's crazy how her internal clock is registered to eat at 11:30 and 5:00 sharp. Like a timer. And...she'll let you know if her buzzer has gone off and we're late getting it to her. What is this little personality she is forming? I'm afraid that it is a little bossy and strong-willed. I don't know where that comes from, do you? Ha.
Playing dolls with Daddy.
"I love my Daddy."

Her recent new activity is scooting. She will push off with her feet, arch her back and scoot on her back for as long as we'll let her. Here, she started out on the center of the playmat and scooted all the way under the chair. No wonder she has a major bald spot on the back of her head! :-)
"Look, Mama! I ended up all the way over here!"
Helping Mama decorate the front of the house.
We crossed a MAJOR MILESTONE this week. Lauren spent the night away from Mommy! Really! Eric and I had Christmas parties two nights in a row. So, Gigi came down Thursday night and spent the night at our house to keep Lauren for us while we went to the Dental District Christmas Party. On Friday, Lauren went to Chipley with her to spend the night with Pops and Aunt Kay while we hosted Eric's office Christmas Party. The Mommy survived and realized that she could live without Lauren for a night at a time and do it again. But maybe not anytime soon. :-) Lauren did great, went to sleep easily and slept all night in my 30 year old crib. I'm pretty sure she didn't even know I was gone.
Our family
Practicing holding her bottle. Thank goodness for pear juice. It really helps little tummies that are getting used to baby food. She gets it every other morning.
Eric with his staff.
Aunt Nan, Lauren and I traveled to Niceville for a visit with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Walt. We had a great visit and they even baby sat for me for 3 hours so I could do some Christmas shopping in Destin. Lately, Lauren has been really fussy (I think it is teething issues) and will start to SCREAM without tears just out of the blue! Unfortunately, I think Nan, Nancy and Walt experienced this a few times but they won't seem to admit it. Thank you guys for "visiting" and doing the jigging walk with Lauren while I had some mommy shopping time. We hope to do it again soon, this time without the screaming (hopefully).
Who knew that a bag of potato chips could be the best entertainment for over an hour!
Very happy Lauren.
At the new Colonial Restaurant in Chipley for lunch.
Taking a break with Ganny before my big golf cart ride with Granddaddy! She absolutely loves riding on the golf cart around their house!
That's it for this week...it was a full one! We'll talk to you after our trip to Orlando next weekend!
