8/1-7/11--Time for our Dental Visit!

It's time for our 6 month check-up for Lauren's teeth!  Usually we would still be doing a lap exam with Dr. Daddy, but Lauren has gotten so used to going to his office that she wants to be in the big girl chair.

She watched TV with Dada counted her princess teeth

Then she got fluoride painted on each tooth.  She was so good and let Mrs. Jenny "touch" each tooth with the cleaning tool.
All done!
Lauren with her favorite Dentist.  :-)
With Mrs. Jenny.  Lauren likes getting her golden coin or "dablumb" (after Jake and the Neverland Pirates...she loves that show)
We have also started speech therapy.  After many months of waiting to see if she would progress on her own, we (along with Dr. Rachesky) decided to go ahead and start to get a formal evaluation.  It couldn't hurt, right?  We've been evaluated by the "First Words Project" and are average or below average in her speech articulation.  Eric and I just don't want to delay treatment if she needs it. Mrs. Kathy is wonderful and works really well with Lauren during her 30 minute session once a week.  I feel like it's more for me as I sit there and watch Kathy's technique and then use her activities to work with Lauren during the rest of the week. We'll continue to go for a couple of months and see how she progresses and then make a long-term plan.
