Week 11: 9/9/09 - 9/15/09

We have had a very laid back week. I think we needed to recover from the late night FSU game last Monday. We didn't get back to Panama City until 2 am, so we spent the next few days taking it easy. Some late afternoons, we like to take Lauren to the St. Andrews Marina and stroll around. She likes all the planks and usually falls asleep. The weather has been really nice lately; we can almost feel the Fall breeze off the water. The 3 of us made our debut to Hunt's Oyster Bar. Sorry, no photos but I have a feeling Lauren is going to get used to this place once "real" (ie. cold weather) oyster season starts for mommy...I'll just pull up her stroller next to my bar stool for a dozen or two really soon! For all of you who know my criteria for a "Tricia Oyster Bar", this place qualifies: a dirty bar top with Coke in the bottle! Aaahhh, smiles all across my face :-) and only a 5 minute drive from our house.

We spent ALL day Saturday watching college football games. Very lazy, but very nice to hear the sound of football coming from our TV.
On Sunday, we took Lauren to church here in Panama City. We aren't quite sure when we should start her in the nursery (Flu season kinda scares me and she won't get her shot for another 5 weeks or so). So, we carried her into the service. She lasted through all of the singing, but 10 minutes into the sermon she was done. She and I spent the rest of the service listening from the foyer where she was completely happy laying on the bench, and not sitting in my lap. Oh well, we'll either try again or consider the nursery.
And last but not least...Lauren took her first boat ride in the Bay. We went 6 mph on a calm day at sunset and she loved it. Yes, the life jacket was there.
Milestones: She is chewing on her fingers a lot! Sometimes I can't tell if she is hungry or just enjoying her fingers. She still looks at her hands--front, back, moving fingers slowly--in amazement. She is starting to lift her feet off the ground when she is on her back. I'm sure it won't be too many more weeks until she discovers them as well. She continues to roll over from tummy to back. She doesn't stay on her tummy long before doing it so it's hard to get it on video. (I tried posting a video, but it didn't work; I think it was too long. I'll try again next week.) She continues to smile a lot (which makes us so happy) and coo's more and more.
We are looking forward to a fun trip to Orlando this next long weekend. Can't wait to visit with all of our friends down there...it's been too long!!
