This week was a somewhat laid back week for The Berry's and we welcomed it. Lauren is walking all over the place and exploring all over the house. She loves to play in the kitchen cabinets, when I let her, and loves to be in the kitchen when I cook, which makes the burn nurse in me very afraid. But she is so much fun to have around !
Lauren is still smiling on command, but now she adds a little eye squint when she does it. :-)
On Friday, I had the chance to take Lauren with me to a Junior Service League placement and jumped at the chance! It was a back-to-school bash for ASAP at Best Buy, so naturally we wanted to where our most studious, big girl outfit! I thought she was so cute.
When you say "Lauren, you look so pretty!" she automatically thinks that you are talking about her hair (probably because we used to say that a lot when she would wear bows and we wanted her not to touch them. We've given up on bows because they don't stay in more than 2 seconds!)
Afterwards, I took her to the bookstore to look at and read books. When we go, I camp out on the children's aisle and just sit on the floor with her and watch her walk up and down the aisle looking at books and putting them back. Glad there's not a card catalog system there for the kids section...we would get it very very messed up.
We'll see you when we return from our 7-day cruise! We leave Saturday with Aunt Kay and Allison and am looking forward to a fun week with LEB and EB. We're going to Half Moon Cay Bahamas, St. Thomas, San Juan Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. I'm so excited and can't wait to tell about it when we get back! Bon Voyage!
