March 23-29, 2010
Lauren turned 9 months old this week and had her well-baby check at Dr. Rachesky's. She weighs 18.4 lbs (45%) and is 28 inches long (70%). Her allergies have now cleared with the use of Zyrtec at night--no more runny nose or mouth breathing and we've stopped the Nasonex and Afrin sprays. Yay! She seems to have two favorite theme songs on TV--that of the Today Show and of WJHG News. Every time she hears them in the morning, she immediately stops what she is doing and whips her head around to look at the TV. It is so funny. She is getting better and better about getting where she wants to go in the playroom by rolling and scooting.
These first two pictures show this. She started out on the far left side of the blanket and ended up under the activity table. I noticed that she had gotten very quiet and when I went to check on her, she just looked up at me and grinned really big. The second part of the story involves me walking over closer and smelling the poop that had run out of her pants and was on the clothes, hair, blanket. Somehow she managed to miss the carpet. It was disgusting...bath time mid-morning came next.
Soon after the bath, Mama Lee and Ms. Shirley came by for a visit while they were in PC.
She is trying very hard to pull up on things, but this is as far as she can get right now. With a little help, she can stand all the way. We have now lowered her crib mattress.
Still practicing the crawl. It won't be too much longer.
Aunt Nan came over and gave Lauren an early Easter gift...a bunny that moves her mouth when she talks and sings. Lauren loves it and starts to move her mouth with the bunny. The song "I love you-a bushel and a peck-and a hug around the neck..." is one that my great-grandmother Ma used to sing. I'm not sure if Nan realized that when she bought it, but I did...
One of the first times I've caught her sleeping on her stomach. There's no way to keep her on her back now that she can roll and move where she wants to go.
On Friday afternoon we went to the beach and walked on the pier. Lauren and Daddy having a drink with her dinner.
The sunset was beautiful over the Gulf.
The Lauren View...eating dinner at Five Guys.
Sunday was Lauren's first Godfrey Easter Brunch at the Yacht Club. She wore her new church shoes...mommy smiles...
"Don't I look pretty and sweet in pink?"
"Look, Jackson! I have a tongue...and a tooth just like you!"
Jackson and Lauren were GREAT at lunch. They kept looking at each other and eyeing each other's food.
"Let me show you my tongue again..."
After lunch, we took the babies outside for pictures by the bay. Lauren wasn't sure about the grass...
...but they were both mesmerized by it.
They're not lacking any attention. You'd think they traveled with their own paparazzi!
Happy Babies!
"I'm going to get you, Jackson!!"

Sunday afternoon, we joined Bailey at the beach to watch the sunset outside Schooners. It was a beautiful day and the girls enjoyed taking each other's toys away from each other. :-)
