On Tuesday, May 17 we left for a 7 day trip to The Abaco Islands in The Bahamas! This was an auction item that we "won" at Holly Fair along with The Melzer's this past November and, after our trip to Eleuthera in the Fall, we were so excited to go back!!
Lauren, Eric, Tricia, Bailey, Daniel, Holly and our "Nanny Kaitlin"!
We flew from Panama City to Ft Lauderdale and spent the night. Then woke up the next morning, took the hotel shuttle to the airport, and flew directly to Marsh Harbor, Bahamas.
Playing in the airport....getting out some energy!
And...we're...here!! This is the view from the top balcony of our house for the next 6 days!
1st play date on the beach after arriving earlier. We're on VACATION!!
Sunsest over The Abaco Club property
Visiting at the lodge before heading to the pool. They had delicious cocunut chocolate chip cookies and lemonade every day.
Riding on the back of the golf cart, the only of mode of transportation on property. Lauren loved it!
Ready for the pool!
The Melzer's enjoying the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the Carribean Ocean.
"Whoa, dada. This is pretty!"

Kaitlin on vacation
"Wait, Kay! Here I come!"
"Let's twirl!"
"Woo-whooooooo!!"
Sunset--night 2
Our top balcony
This is what happened to Kaitlin when I get on to Lauren and discipline her...Kay cried!! Seriously!
"Oh geez...Lauren wasn't phased, but Kaitlin was!"
We went shopping at a local grocery store (Sav-a-Lot...everything was SO expensive, even at Sav-a-lot!) and we all loved snacking on mac-n-cheese all week long.
We went in to town at Marsh Harbor for a bite to eat one night to Curly Tails (all other nights, we ate at the Clubhouse--which was delicious!).
An umbrella in our drinks!
The girls were good...thank goodness for "Tangled".
Going out to jump on the trampoline...the girls loved it!
Kaitlin taking it easy
On our last full day, we charted a boat to take us snorkeling and island hopping.
Naptime on the boat
Oh, such a good nap.
The reef that we snorkeled was absolutely beautiful! The most vibrant, natural, amazing thing I've ever seen under water. It was like looking down on an aquarium.
My favorite part of the trip...snuggling on the stern.
beautiful
Our Captain, Steve, took us to Lubber's Landing for a fresh lunch. Very neat little restaurant.
Girls playing and having a good time in the pillows at the table.
I think LEB has been watching her mama walk with her hands behind her back.
Playing the No Name Ring Game...very popular in the Bahamas. It was at every restaurant and bar that we went to.
View from inside
Freshly picked from the tree then squeezed lemonade...delicious!
After lunch, we went to a sand bar to hang out. Eric found a live star fish while floating around.
Last family picture before leaving the islands
Bailey playing with her mommy
The next morning, we boarded our plane in Marsh Harbor and headed to Ft. Lauderdale. Stowed our luggage at the airport and took a taxi to the Children's Museum. We had a 6 hour layover and made use of our time as best we could!
We were pleasantly surprised to find that the museum was perfect!!
Lauren loved the aquarium...I think this means that we're ready for a trip to Sea World!
The had a wonderful toddler area with educational toys and play sets.
Even Kaitlin liked it :-)
Testing out the ambulance.
We had a really great vacation with The Melzer's and Kaitlin and were so sad to leave the islands. But we were excited to go back home...all of the painting and minor construction of our new house should be done! Lots to do...like move from one house to another! Good thing we rested up on vacation!
