11/1/10 Halloween Candy Buyback

On November 1, Dada's office held it's 1st Annual Halloween Candy Buyback.  Children could bring their excess Halloween Candy to the office and we gave them $1 per pound of candy.  Then, we shipped the candy to Operation Shoebox in Ocala for distribution with care packages to soldiers in war.  Lauren showed up in her Halloween costume.  We have gotten lots of use out of this costume: she has worn it 5 times!
Grandma and Ethan came to donate candy and hang out for a little while.

Lauren giving Dada some tips before he is interviewed by Channel 13 News.

Miss Heather stayed for a little while until we got everything up and going.
 Ethan with his $5!

Kids could also write a Thank You Note, draw a picture or color for our troops.  We sent all of these along with the candy.
 Grandma directing a game :-)

We collected 255 pounds of candy and look forward to doing it again next year!  Afterwards, we went to Chick Fila with Miss Jenny, Miss Britney, Grandma and Ethan.  Lauren LOVES being with Ethan.
Dada saw this cute little pink chair at Sam's and thought LEB really needed it.  And you can't have a cute little chair without a TV to play the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD's on, right?  Oh.My.Goodness...Dada is wrapped!

September 27-29, 2010--Beach after Work and Thomas's Football Game!

Our new favorite thing to do after work is to go to the beach.  We take no toys but just walk in the sand looking for shells and looking at birds, the waves and the gorgeous sunsets.

"Dada.  What are you thinking?  Well, I'm thinking that this is cool..."

"Here, let me put your shoe on for you."
On Tuesday night, we drove to Bonifay to watch Thomas Jay play football!  He is in the 7th grade and plays on the 8th grade team.  He's really good!  And big!  He never comes off the field playing both Offense and Defense.
Having a fun time playing with Dada and Uncle Bill.

After the game
We were so happy to be able to see Thomas Jay play!  Wow!  How much taller is he going to get?!
(Poor little Lauren.  Her mommy was caught off-guard by the cool weather.  She is sporting a 12-month jacket that is clearly too small for her 15 month old body!)
"Ah!  Thomas Jay!"

On Wednesday night, I had a night out with my Wells Belles Sisters in Tallahassee.  We saw the play Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion".  It was hilarious!  Tyler Perry himself was in the play and he is so funny!  Before the play, we ate at 'Food Glorious Food'--Delicious!
Us 5!  Holly is having a baby!!  Jackson is going to be a big brother!
Just relaxing; watching morning cartoons.

Gainesville--UF vs Kentucky 9/24-26/10

On the afternoon of Friday September 24, we three set out for a two night stay in Gainesville.  Lauren was dressed in her PJ's and slippers (smiles) and all ready for her ride.
We stopped about an hour after we left for dinner at McDonald's.  LEB ate the entire hamburger minus a little bit of bread!  Picture to prove it!
She was a good little traveler, which was great considering that we don't drive long distances with her often anymore, and watched the entire "Finding Nemo" movie.
We got to the hotel, but we were NOT tired!  So, we played in mommy's bag and tried on her clothes!  She pulled my bra out and tried putting it on both arms all by herself.  She watches everything!
That night, Eric stayed with Lauren so that I could meet Holly for a drink and girl chat.  'Oo! Tapas and Tinis' was awesome and we girls enjoyed ourselves.
Within a few hours of our arrival, Lauren started sneezing, had a major clear runny nose, and her poor little eyes were almost a continue drip of tears.  Could it be that she is allergic to The Gators?  Hum?  Well, something was definitely blooming or falling to the ground in Gville because she had a major allergy flare-up the entire time we were in Gville.
The next morning, I dressed Lauren in her pre-game attire and we ate breakfast at the hotel.  Guess who likes to push the elevator buttons now?!
We then went to SunCountry for some indoor playtime.
Lauren watched some of the older kids climb up the steps, so she tried...
 ...almost to the top...
...and over!  She has NO fear whatsoever!
"Yeah, I think I like this!"
 "Dada, this is fun!"
 "Whoo-hoo!"

Going up the big jungle gym with Dada
 "Hey, down there!"
Coming down the slide all by herself!
The next time, she thought that it was time for her to do it herself.
Later that afternoon, it was time to start tailgating with Bailey!  We first went to a dental classmate's house close to the stadium to stretch our legs.
"Come on, guys.  It's time to go to watch the game!"
 Outside the stadium tailgating!

"Guys, you mean to tell me that there isn't any water in here to put in my sippy?!!  Mommy, what were you thinking!?"
We were taking a stroll through the parking lot and guess who we saw!  Caitlyn and MaryBeth!  They were on their official UF school visit the day before and stayed the weekend for the game!
 With Dr. Omar
 And with Uncle Joey!!
The best way to travel...on top of Dada's shoulders!  It was great except when she sneezed into Eric's head...true Daddy love.
In our seats watching the game!
 Isn't this the cutest picture?!!
Lauren was such a good girl!  Or at least as good as it gets for this little active 15 month old.  Everytime someone would clap, she would start to clap too!  I loved it!  So fun!  The weather was so nice for a night game--clear, cool skies but not chilly.
"Hi, my name is Lauren.  What's your name?  I may look like a baby, but I know exactly what you're doing with that I-Pad.  Can I play with it?"  Notice her belly sticking out of her shirt and the look on her face...ha!
It was nice to be able to go inside every  now and again to let Lauren walk, run and make new friends.  It was perfect.
Taking it easy in the Touchdown Terrace. So glad we have these seats...
Despite our best efforts to keep her allergies at bay (extra doses of Claritin, saline spray, suctioning), nothing really worked.  This is a picture of her eating an orange in the bathtub after the game.  Extra Vitamin C was worth a try, I thought.
We just kept a bib on her most of the time since she was mouth breathing a lot because of her nose and drooling a lot because of the 4 molars that are coming in all at the same time.  Yeah, that's happening too.  She seems to really do just fine with teething, but these molars are causing a lot of swelling in all 4 places.  It's really kinda pitiful. I feel so sorry for her during teething season.
Ahhh, the life.  Driving back home after having brunch at Leonardo's 706 with Bailey.
I love my baby.  She is so sweet and such an awesome traveler.  She was great even though she had to deal with teething AND major allergy problems.
NOTE: Lauren's allergies seemed to calm way down within one day of returning to PC.  Possible Etiologies: something was blooming...or it was the bloomin' gators. :-)
