8/27-29/10 Trip to Birmingham, AL

On Friday August 27, we 3 drove to Birmingham to be with Evan (3) and Joel(18 months) Ticola for Evan's 3rd birthday party!  We were so excited to see them because it had been a year since our last visit when Lauren and I made our 1st solo trip to Gainesville for Joel's baptism.
Matt is doing a 2 year Pediatric Dentistry Residency at UAB and Daphne, the awesome mother and wife that she is, is keeping their home going strong.
Before we started our drive, Lauren and I took a trip to the library to check out books and 2 DVDs.

Normally, we would face LEB backwards since that's the safest way to travel but we thought we'd turn her forward and let her watch the TV since we would be driving for 5 hours and most of it would be while she was awake.  Can you tell that she LOVED the TV in the truck?  She was GLUED!

This photo is 2 hours later in Alabama...still watching TV and eating a ham, cheese, avacado sandwich for dinner.  We arrived later that night at the hotel and looked forward to seeing everybody in the morning.

After a morning of kids playing and we adults visiting at The Ticola's, we went to Chuck E Cheese's for the party!

LEB had such a fun time on the little kid rides.

There's the Birthday Boy!

"Hi, Chuck E!"
Gabby (3 years) and her Daddy

"I'm not so sure about you, Chuck E.  I'm going to keep hanging on to my Dada."

EVAN!!!

Back at Evan's house, the kids played some more.

They all got along so well and I loved watching Lauren with everybody.

"kisses"

Around 8:30-9pm, we started opening presents.  The kids were still going!

Can't you tell LEB is having a fun time?!?!!

Hugs from Evan.

"L.Berry, ARNP is on a mission"

Gabby is saying "hi" to her baby brother/sister.  Susie and Tony are 5 months pregnant!

Sunday morning relaxing in bed after her continental breakfast downstairs.

"Oh Fia.  I'm so glad we finally got to meet!  I really like playing with you!"

The girls!

"Smile, babies.  I'm going to take your picture!"

We were so happy that Mallory had time in her day to go to lunch with us!  She moved to Birmingham 4 days earlier and we picked her up just before noon in front of her dorm and we all went to lunch at a yummy spot down the road.  Lauren was VERY tired with a full belly by the time we got back to campus.

Samford is absolutely beautiful and quaint.  We enjoyed our visit and tour of campus.  The next day, Mallory started classes and was very excited to get started!
