Easter 2010

Lauren celebrated her Easter morning at home in Panama City. She woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had come for a visit! He left "The Tale of Peter Rabbit", "My Easter Basket--The True Story of Easter" and a Melissa and Doug puzzle. (This mommy had never even heard of Melissa and Doug until a few months ago). He also left a basket full of prize eggs with yogurt melts in them.
Playing with her new puzzle.
It didn't take long and the basket grass was out and into her mouth as were the yogurt melts as soon as she realized that she could open the eggs and get them out!
The was a big snafu in our 1st Easter together...Eric was sick with a stomach virus. I had been sick with it two days prior, but Eric's seemed to take him for a loop. Here is our official Easter picture--without Eric. :-( So, Daddy stayed in PC to recover while Lauren and I went to church in Chipley, had lunch at Gigi and Pops and then visited with Grandma and Pa and all of the cousins.
"Happy Easter, Granddaddy!"
"Do you like my dress and bonett? "
Pops and Lauren
"Praise The Lord!"

Sporting her new sunglasses from Gigi and Pops---she kept them on for a while!

"Granddaddy, I think there are more Yogurt Melts in here!!"
"Yep, yep...there are!"

Picture time with Kali and Kendall.

Even though our 1st Easter with Lauren wasn't picture perfect (I felt so bad leaving Eric in bed), it was a gorgeous day to celebrate God's love and be with family.

March 30-April 4...Shopping, Beach and Vivian's 1st Birthday!

This has been a HUGE week for Lauren! On March 30, she officially crawled! She has been taking 2-3 smalls crawling steps, but on the night of the 30th Aunt Kay, Eric and I were sitting with her in the playroom and practicing with her when she went far enough that we called it OFFICIAL. :-) The next day, she crawled and crawled all over the place. It was as if she suddenly realized that she could do it. She now has no problem getting where she wants to go as long as it is a flat surface. This milestone threw us into baby-proofing the house for the next few days; something we knew we should have done weeks ago but kept putting it off. So, a baby gate now adorns the entrance to the playroom, extra cords are gone, outlets are plugged and we're cautiously leaving Emma's food and water as is right now. Speaking of Emma...she now knows that Lauren is crawling and is starting to watch her back. :-)
On March 31st, we noticed that her second tooth had broken the skin. So she now has two bottom teeth.
This week is Aunt Kay and Gigi's Spring Break, so we spent one day shopping with them in Destin. Lauren loved strolling outside and in and out stores. It was a great day to shop.
Aunt Kay spent the night with us and Lauren loved having her here.
"Watch me, Aunt Kay!"

Her hair is gradually getting longer, but pig-tails are far, far in our future.

See, I told you Emma has her eye on Lauren. This was before we put the baby gate across the opening. Emma is actually really nice to Lauren and lets her pet her every now and again.

We spent one day at the beach with Aunt Kay. Lauren loved being out there. Gorgeous weather.
Got to eat puffs and yogurt melts!
This was the day after she started crawling. The sand didn't seem to bother her one bit.

Lauren received a special Easter Book in the mail from Evan and Joel. She had a fun time opening her new gift. Thank you, Ticola Boys!
"So, mommy...which bow should I wear to Daddy's office? "
On Saturday, we went to Vivian's 1st Birthday party out at the beach. Lauren had the BEST time! She loved being with all the children there and fell asleep very easy on the ride back home.
Playing with bubbles: Vivian, The Birthday Girl!!
Playing in the sand
Showing off her crawling skills to a new friend

1st time in a baby pool...absolutely LOVED it!

And playing in the balls. Lauren is going to have a good time going to birthday parties now that she is old enough to participate. It won't be too much longer before we'll be thinking about her 1st birthday party! Goodness...where has the time gone?
