We found a tooth in Gainesville!! 3/16-22/10

I left you last week with Lauren's bout of Allergic Rhinitis. Her poor little nose swelling has responded nicely to the 3 days of 1/2 strength Afrin at night but I have felt the need to give her an extra dose during the day on Day 2 and 3. Her eyes aren't watering as much and we have tried to stay in the house a little more than we normally would (this would equate to the majority of the day since our days are usually IN our house with a once a day field trip for an errand or two). I've continued the Nasonex, Saline Spray, humidifier, and Vicks Vapor Rub. However, despite my Nurse Tricia efforts, she continues to have a runny nose and stopped up head, major mouth breathing and major drooling.
We thought she had discovered her tongue recently because she has been licking her lips and pooching out her tongue quite a bit. BUT...we now realized that she has been licking her snot! Disgusting... Here she is at Granny Cantrell's enjoying her yogurt...
...and the train that goes around the restaurant near the ceiling. We love Granny Cantrell's now because Lauren gets to have delicious country vegetables and food. The first week that we tried it, we went twice. It's close to Eric's office and he can meet us there for lunch.
On one of our trips to the bookstore on Tuesday...
Playing in the day care at the gym on Wednesday. She still seems to like going. Here she is clapping after each yogurt melt the staff would give her. Clapping="more please" or "yum" or both :-)
We came home from the gym and was surprised to see that Grandma and Pa had come for a surprise visit! Lauren has learned a new trick: every time she hears one of us cough, she'll do a fake cough in return and then smile. She's showing Grandma how she can do it while jumping in the bouncer. Grandma just laughed and laughed she thought it was so funny!
We finished the 3 days of Afrin on Wednesday night and by Thursday mid-morning, but little baby who never lets me rock her to sleep or hold her much, wanted to be held the entire morning. We went back to Dr. Rachesky's office to check to see if her allergies were turning into something more. She stayed asleep while being weighed...not characteristic of Lauren at all! I also wanted to make sure she wasn't sick because we were scheduled to leave that afternoon for Gainesville for PedoGator (Eric's dental conference). There was no sign of ear/throat/lung infection but her allergies were out of control. So, we started Zyrtec 1/2 t at bedtime and were told to use Afrin Q2Days as needed, continue Nasonex and all the other little things (humidifier, etc).
So, on to Gainesville we went!
We got to the hotel super late and found out what had been causing Lauren to have a contributing factor of runny nose, drooling and, hopefully, why she had been sticking her tongue out so much (instead of licking you know what)...she has had a tooth to break through the skin!! It was not there 12 hours prior as I had just looked with the ARNP at the doctor's office during the exam. I was brushing my teeth while Eric was playing with Lauren on the bed when he said "Mommy, come here. We have something to show you!" I looked at the most beautiful, white, sweetest tooth I had ever seen. Only a first time mommy can say this, right? Ha. And then...I cried! Ha Ha Ha!! So, Lauren has officially cut her first tooth (left lower) at 9 months old at Daddy's Dental Conference.
Playing around and celebrating the tooth. She is doing a lot better at getting up on ALL 4's and started to rock back and forth.

You can appreciate the bed head hair she got during her car ride down to Gainesville.
We don't turn cartoons on too much at home, so Lauren was mesmerized by the PBS show.
I, of course, had to swing by the Burn Unit to visit with my dearest friends. Elma oo'ing and aw'ing over Lauren's feet.

And Eric enjoyed showing her off at the events for the dental conference.

Lauren enjoying a big-girl bed at the hotel. Certainly better than the pack-n-play. We had a great night with Eric's classmates at Dragonfly Sushi and Maude's while Lauren was entertained by Danielle, the Perrin Boys' babysitter.
2 nights and we still brought this much stuff.
We stopped back by Chipley so Lauren could have a spend-the-night party with Gigi and Pops while we went to a St. Pat's Day party at SeaCrest Beach.
Admiring herself...these are going to go in Eric's office.
The Mommy and Daddy returned on Sunday to pick their baby up and visit with Grandma, Pa, Uncle Lance, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Gabe, Aunt Stacie and Austin, Isaac, Ethan, and Lucas. Ethan is 4 years old and takes a special interest in Lauren. He always wants to hold her and play.
Austin...9 years old.
Uncle Gabe having a fun time with the kids.
