So, it is June 20, 2009 ~ one day past our expected due date with little Lauren Elizabeth Berry. Evidently, she is very comfortable with her current surroundings, or she did not get the memo that she was supposed to meet us yesterday! :-) Eric and I are okay with her plans and are just taking it easy and trying to be patient. We are content with how things are going and will use this weekend as our last weekend of a family of two to rest and relax. We know that we will get to hold our little girl in less than 4 days as labor will be induced on the morning of June 23. Induction was never really our grand plan, but I really like and trust our OB, Dr. Ramie. We are just so excited about the next week of our lives! I can't even imagine how things are going to be. Our bag is packed for the hospital, cord blood packet beside the suitcase, the house is clean, Lauren's room in organized, guest bedroom is ready for excited grandmothers and aunts, Eric's office is officially closed all of next week and frozen meals are in the freezer. What else can I do? I feel like I've gotten ready for this moment for the past 4+ years and can't believe that it will all start to unfold sometime during the next 4 days.
I've never done a blog before but am extremely motivated by our friends, Susie and Tony, in El Paso, TX. They update the blog of their two little girls once a week for family and friends all over the world to view. I'll use Susie as my inspiration for getting started so that we can share Lauren with all of our family and friends not living in Panama City! I also plan to use this blog as a way to make a photo book on blurb.com so that Lauren can have a well-documented story of her life. I'm really excited about it. Thank you, Susie!
Ah, another blog for me to look forward to. I know you'll be much better at it than I have been lately. A word to the wise, get a great external hard drive and start backing up so you don't clog up your computer's hard drive like I did. Hopefully I'll get my blog up and running again very soon, but until then, I'll have the new Berry website to enjoy. I saw your email and thought..."She's here, she's here!!" and then realized very quickly she wasn't. Bummer, but you're doing all the right things...getting rest. I'm amazed of all the other things...the house being clean, the nursery organized AND meals in the freezer?!?! You're a pro! God Bless!! We'll be one of your frequent visitors of the blog as we look forward to watching Lauren grow. Love you guys!! Looking forward to seeing your little baby girl's photos plastered all over this page!!!
ReplyDeletelove this! I cant wait for little lauren to arrive. I can already tell im going to have to check this just as much as I check my myspace. =)

Looking forward to the "arrival" soon. Lauren is a lucky girl to have you guys as parents. Only advice at this point is: GET REST!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! This way I'll be able to "visit" you two and Lauren while we are in Oregon. Love you three so much!
ReplyDeleteTricia,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful. You've obviously made a wonderful home for Lauren and she just wants to stay snuggled inside.
If it's okay, I will add your blog to our favorite blog links.
I'll surely be reading your updates as we are just about 6 weeks from little Christina arriving!
Best wishes to you all!
I love Lauren's pink cadilac walker. Nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI saw your e-mail and thought that Lauren had finally made. Remember this is your last few days of just the 2 of you things want be the same when baby gets here so get all the rest you can(smile)
ReplyDeletelots of love from your BICU family.
Well Lauren seems like her momma already. She's doing her own thing, her own way! :) I have no doubt she'll be a smart and beautiful young lady one day with the two of you as her parents. We are so excited to meet her in a couple of weeks when we visit. We continue to pray for a healthy and safe delivery for baby and momma.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy tonight, because you won't remember life after LEB after tomorrow.
Tricia, there just aren't adequate words to tell you how much I enjoy and appreciate your weekly updates and photographs of Lauren and her family. It makes the 3,000 miles that separate us much closer. I have Sunday, November 8 marked in red on my calendar. We'll be back in Niceville and will be coming to Panama City for Nan's birthday and our first visit with Lauren. I can't wait! Love to all of you!
