Week 7: 8/12/09-8/18/09

This week has definitely been a laid back week compared to the last few weeks. It was nice to just take it easy and get back into a routine. As a result, Lauren ended this week with 3 consecutive nights of "sleeping through the night"!! Seriously! Her night time sleep starts around 8:30pm and she wakes up again between 6:30-7:15am! I'm hesitant to talk about this because this may all change as soon as I do. The only thing is that she stays up for the majority of the day, only taking cat naps here and there. By the end of the afternoon, she is extremely fussy and starts a 2 hour or so screaming spree. I have tried to get her to sleep more during the day, but nothing has worked so far. I'm up for any suggestions if you have them. But even in her grumpy afternoons, she is still mommy's sweet little baby. :-)
On Tuesday night, Lauren had spend-the-night company with her Aunt Kay. Kaitlin gave her a bath and helped take care of her. It was really nice to have her here because she has been so busy with summer school, cheerleading practice and work. On Wednesday, we 3 girls had a shopping date with Aunt Sybil, Sherry, Sara Kaye and Kaci. We ate at Margaritaville and shopped at Pier Park. We had a really good time and can't wait to go again with them. Aunt Sybil gave Lauren a bottle at the pottery studio while Sarah Kaye and Kaci painted. Lauren was a really good girl while Kaitlin and I shopped for Kaitlin's cruise next week.
We had our weekly visit from Ganny and Grandaddy on Thursday and went to eat lunch at Outback BBQ. This is becoming Lauren's favorite BBQ place...she gets to go at least once a week with friends or family. :-) Ganny and Grandaddy babysat for me for 1-1/2 hours while I went to Eric's office to meet with his staff. Their report was that she "was a good little girl".
On Saturday, Aunt Kay babysat Lauren while I went to a brunch in Graceville. That night Eric, Lauren and I spent the night at Gigi and Pops' house so that we could be in Chipley early the next morning for Jackson's baptism at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Daphne, do you recognize Lauren's outfit from Spain? This was Lauren's first church service (I've been trying to wait until a time close to her 1st immunizations, per the pediatrician) and she was great! (Code for: she slept through the entire service.) Jackson was a doll and did really good. He is such a cutie. We then had Sunday lunch at Pa and Grandma's house and Lauren got to visit with her 4 boy cousins.
This next week, we are looking forward to traveling to Gainesville to see Joel Ticola's baptism at Queen of Peace while Eric is on a 5 day fishing trip. Just us 2 girls!
