Lauren, Eric and I took a long weekend trip to Orlando to visit our closest friends. It was also a chance to take Lauren back to her "roots" as this is where she got her start in our lives. :-)
She traveled so well in the car. I took Bailey Melzer's suggestion of a travel mobile that connects to the carseat so Lauren would have something to be entertained with; she loved it! She is really starting to enjoy toys now. We stayed at Uncle Mark and Aunt Mary's house in Baldwin Park and Lauren continued to be a great sleeper in her Pack n Play (now averaging 10 hours at night...gasp!). As you can see in the first picture, Lauren's suitcase was much bigger than ours. Despite my efforts to conserve space with packing, it just couldn't do be done with a baby...who knew!
We had a great time visiting with Uncle Joey, Aunt Whitney, JB, Noah and Sergio. All of us went out to eat at Houston's, watched JB play soccer, and watched the Gators beat Tennessee. We also ate at our favorite Sushi spot (Amura), had a picnic lunch at the park, helped Aunt Mary register for her two babies at Babies R Us, planned the baby shower (went to the PLACE where it will be...sorry Mary, it's still a surprise!), visited with Enon and Kelli, went to church and walked along Park Ave, ate at the Briarpatch (one of my favorites), introduced Lauren to the staff of Pediatric Dentistry of Central Florida and ate lunch with Dr. Charlie and Dr. John at El Potro (Eric's favorite). The 3 of us also had dinner with the Bertot's. Lauren was entertained by their daughter, Christina. She was such a good babysitter; Lauren loved looking at all of her baby dolls and having Christina's full attention. It was so cute!! Notice the picture of Lauren in her carrier with 2 of Christina's dolls. :-)
The video below is Lauren playing a game...she was trying to watch the football game on TV but Mary and I were putting a stuffed animal in her way and she was getting frustrated with us...she's not crying but rather trying to tell us to MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! After a little while, I think she realized that this was making a new noise and kept doing it. She was so funny!
I should comment on Mary's belly! She is one of the prettiest pregnant ladies I've seen. And to think that there are two precious little girls growing in Mary's little body. Amazing. She is 1/2 way through her pregnancy in these photos. :-)
It was a great trip and a much needed time spent with friends. We can't wait to see them again.
she's a talker! once evan heard lauren he wanted to look and see who was making all that noise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny video. Funny how even that small, they can get their point across! It looks like you had a wonderful time in Orlando. I feel like it's been ages since I've seen you all. I agree, Mary is a beautiful pregnant lady, but would we expect anything less? And you, too, who doesn't even look like you just had a baby! I wish I could pull off a cute skirt and heels like you can! Thanks for sharing your wonderful week with us. I look forward to reading next week's blog!
