June 1-3, 2010

After a fun weekend at the lake, Daddy came home and went out fishing.  He caught a King Fish.  Lauren wasn't awake when he returned home, but I wish she had been so we could have shown her the fish.
Here's our little princess sporting her headband.  I put it on her thinking that it would be cute for a few seconds, but she felt it on top of her head, took her hand down and smiled really big.  She kept it on for a few hours!  I think the knew the she looked like a big girl.
Well, this big girl is getting very smart.  I am still nursing her twice a day (when she wakes up and just before going to bed).  I cut out the 2 pm nursing two weeks ago.  When she finishes with one side, she knows it it time to switch sides.  She'll stop nursing, sit up, and lean towards the other side.  Yes, I think it is definitely time to continue the weaning process, don't you!?!?!  So, this week I started giving her whole milk in the sippy cup!  She wasn't so sure about it at first but now loves it and her tummy is tolerating it just fine!  Her birthday is in 3 weeks and, although I'll be sad to know that our bonding time over milk is over, IT IS TIME to stop nursing!  She's also started pulling at my bikini top when I have it on...one more reason.  :-)
Another new trick this week is: "Lauren, where is your shoe?"  And she'll quickly point to her shoe!  First body part (sort of) recognized.  We've been practicing nose, mouth, teeth, eye, ear...but shoe is the first thing.  She really does love shoes.  Maybe it's a foreshadowing to her life story.
Wilder's World, an indoor playground, has opened here in PCB.  Although it is geared towards older kids who can enjoy bounce houses, Lauren had a great time during our play date with MOPS.
"Oh, sweet baby".
When we say "Oh sweet baby", she'll hug the doll and pat it on the back.
Lauren was still drooling quite a bit with her teething season, so a bib (which we don't usually wear because of style concerns...hahahahaha) was most definitely needed!
Also this week, I mustered up the UF Alumni spirit in me and went to a fundraiser dinner for Holy Nativity School with guest speaker Coach Spurrier.  Although he coaches the Gamecocks now, the feeling in the room was all about the "Go Gators!"
Oh dear, that reminds me of our future dilemma--Noles vs Gators.  Mommy vs Daddy.  We'll cross that bridge when we get there...

We'll see you when we return from our 10 day trip to Orlando!
