7/6-10/10 Swim Lessons Continue, FIRST STEPS! and Mason's Party!

Lauren continued the American Red Cross Infant Swim Lessons this week.  Big Announcement: we are not the top swimmer in our group!  But we certainly tried.  The class was Tuesday-Friday 4-4:30pm.  We accomplished kicking our feet when mommy says "kick, kick, kick!" and blew bubbles once (maybe twice; the second time was kinda partial) in 8 days.
The last two days, I was sick with a virus or something.  In bed for the majority of the day and felt horrible.  Aunt Nan came to the rescue on the last Thursday (and so last minute!  I called her with less than 30 minutes to get ready and she didn't hesitate a bit!  Thank you Aunt Nan for being so considerate and always helpful!) and went as my substitute.  I sat on the bleachers and watched.

"Blow bubbles like this..." says teacher Heather.  "Whatever, lady.  I can taste the awful salt in this pool!  I think I'll pass." says Lauren.

On the last day of class, Nan brought Emily as extra help as we think Teacher Heather needed more practice being a swim instructor.  f

"Okay, Lauren.  Do you see this ball?  Jump and kick your feet to swim to the ball!"

Mommy's heroes with LEB.  Lauren received her certificate of completion for Infant Swim Lessons.  Maybe we'll make a trip to Chipley next year for more advanced learning!

NEXT BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!  Lauren is officially walking!  She spent the night with Gigi and Pops Friday July 9th and they practiced with her.  Now, I have to explain that it wasn't that we, her parents, didn't want to practice walking with our little baby, it's just that we want her to stay a "little baby"!  And I knew that if we practiced, that she would start walking.  Anyway, when we went to pick her up the next afternoon, Gigi says, "we have something to show you!"  And there she went across the living room about 6 feet worth of baby steps.  I couldn't believe it!  So, since the mommy and dada didn't see her do it until Saturday, we won't count her official first day of steps until July 10th.  ha.  just kidding.

On Saturday, we went to Mason's 1st Birthday Party!  It was so much fun swimming and playing with cousins!  Lauren can now jump off/step off the side of the pool and doesn't mind being dunked under.  She always looks confused when she comes up but doesn't cry!

"Hey, Ethan!  I'm so happy to see you again!"
